The porch garden in August

How the summer has flown by! We have been enjoying three types of tomatoes, banana peppers, red peppers, and strawberries from our little porch garden. Daughter has added her succulents (including the one blooming in this photo), and the lavender plant has produced its first bloom. What a joy!

Lakeshore views

A friend visited me in Milwaukee over the 4th of July weekend. The weather was scorching hot so we mostly stayed inside, but we did visit this spot in St Francis along the bike path, one of my favorites for its spectacular views of Lake Michigan! Our rewards were gorgeous wildflowers and a glimpse of someone out sailing.

The porch garden!

We have created a porch garden of flowers, fruits, and vegetables this year. I'm a long-time apartment dweller so this is a first, thanks in large part to my green-thumbed daughter. Our humble little garden is thriving and bringing such joy! My mother, when she was alive, had a magnificent garden every year. I'm sure many of you reading this have glorious gardens, too. Here are a few recent pics of what's growing here. Cheers to beautiful gardens, large and small, everywhere!
