Loxahatchee, part 2

On the second part of our tour of the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, my friends and I walked a long path around a marshy area, hoping to spot alligators or other wildlife. The birds were more cooperative for me than the alligators that day. But I discovered that I love marshes! (For many more marsh photos, see the Horicon tab under My Photos on the left.)

Loxahatchee, part 1

In December of 2017, some friends and I visited the northernmost part of the Arthur R Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, part of the Everglades in Florida. We took only  a brief tour through a cypress swamp, but it was enough to give me a desire to visit more of the Everglades--a unique ecosystem in all the world! Here are a few photos from the tour. More to come in part 2.

Florida Flora (& Misc)

Two years ago this month I visited a dear friend in Florida to escape the Wisconsin winter for a few days. Here are photos from that trip, of  flowers and colorful ornaments from her yard and the nurseries we visited for landscaping supplies. The stained glass is hung in her dining room window to beautiful effect.
