The golden light

There is something enchanting about the golden light of late afternoon. A few days ago on my daily walk I snapped some phone-pics of this lovely light shining brightly on trees and buildings around the neighborhood. Along with the golden-light photos I've included one of a maple seed that closely matched the color of a metal grate near the sidewalk.  Simple joys!

Late autumn beauty

On Thursday I took a break from work to walk around the neighborhood for some fresh air and exercise. Here are some photos of the objects that caught my eye as I walked, taken with my phone camera. I have often had the thought that beauty is everywhere, if only our hearts and eyes are open to it. During these days of pandemic isolation and political turmoil, I take refuge and solace in the beauty of nature that is everywhere, even in the middle of the city.

Color in My Backyard

When I look out of my kitchen window, I see two trees that turn the most gorgeous colors in the fall! I went out to take some photos during a work break yesterday. (I am working mostly from home due to the pandemic.) I find the leaves to be so beautiful, whether still on the branch or already on the ground. In a few more weeks the trees will be bare, so I treasure these days of glorious, leafy color.

October Trees

Yesterday while out on a morning errand I encountered the most beautiful fall colors! I had only my phone with me, but thankfully the built-in camera is very good. I find nature's beauty to be restorative, especially now in these stressful times.

Early Autumn Color

I took these pics with my iPhone while walking around the neighborhood. We're one week into autumn so there are still flowers to enjoy. Fruit and berries are ripe and the leaves are beginning to turn. Temps are cool, so we should have full color in a few weeks.
